Two Types of Medical Billing

Medical billing can be in-house or it can be outsourced. Choosing which one will work best for your practice can be very tricky. Here are their differences:

  1. In-House – this involves hiring full-time certified medical billers and coders to work in the healthcare facility. The billing and coding and all other processes involved are done inside the clinic or hospital. When an employee takes a leave of absence or is inefficient the entire process is compromised.
  2. Outsourced – hiring a third-party service provider to get the job done. Everything is done remotely so need for the expensive-software and IT system. The medical billing company already has a team of certified billers and coders who can take care of all the aspects of billing without hassles to the practitioners or the healthcare facility.
